Founded in 1997, the Columbia Rowing Club provides an opportunity to promote and develop the sport of rowing in the central South Carolina area.

During the summer of 2002, we made another step in our development as a club, a real boathouse. While it is not our dream it is a start. Below is a photo of our new boathouse. Click on the image to go to a gallery of images showing its construction.

In February 2003 our new boathouse got secured. Jim Lucas single-handedly(!) put up all the racks for our boats and one month later we moved out of our "old boathouse" into the new one. And this is how it looks now:
